The AHA is an advocate of good health, promoting positive behaviors, nutritious eating habits and healthy lifestyles. It also funds cutting-edge research and professional education programs.
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research. JDRF works every day to change the reality of this disease for millions of people-and to prevent anyone else from ever knowing it-by funding research, advocating for government support of research and new therapies, ensuring new therapies come to market and connecting and engaging the type 1 diabetes community.
National Kidney Foundation of Arizona
The National Kidney Foundation of Arizona is the major voluntary health agency in Arizona seeking solutions for kidney and urinary tract diseases through education, prevention and treatment. Committed to improve the quality of life for Arizonans with kidney failure, the Foundation's many programs bring help and hope to thousands of dialysis patients and transplant recipients. The foundation's initiatives provide community education about kidney health and the prevention of chronic kidney
disease and advocates for organ donation.
Children's Cancer Network
Children's Cancer Network helps Arizona children and families dealing with childhood cancer. The volunteer based organization works closely with social services at Phoenix Children's Hospital, Cardon Children's Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center to address the highest priority needs for these children and families.
Boys & Girls Clubs
The Boys & Girls Clubs provide thousands of Valley children and teenagers with a positive, supervised and fun environment to explore the power of their potential. The Clubs offer more than 100 youth development programs emphasizing five core areas including: the arts; character and leadership development; education and career development; health and life skills; and sports, fitness and recreation.
Phoenix Art Museum
Since it opened in 1959, Phoenix Art Museum has become the largest art museum in the southwestern United States, providing access to visual arts and educational programs in Arizona. In the last fifty years millions have visited the museum to view the over four hundred national and international exhibitions it has hosted. Visitors can also enjoy the interactive PhxArtKids gallery and the lush Dorrance Sculpture Garden.
Phoenix Theatre Guild
Founded in 1953, the Phoenix Theatre Guild raises funds for the award winning Phoenix Theatre by offering a dinner and show for each Phoenix Theatre musical performance, as well as an annual fashion show and luncheon among other events. The Guild also generously supports Summer Camp performances throughout the 8 weeks of the program. These shows include youth ages 4 to 16 that perform what they have learned in camp each week to full capacity houses.
